Safety
Installed properly, checked regularly.
Height only works when it's secure. These are the rules we follow, and the ones we ask you to follow too.
Before you mount anything
- Check the glass or wall is sound: no cracks, no movement in the frame, no flexing plasterboard.
- Suction cups need flat, smooth, untextured glass. Frosted, filmed, textured or coated glass is not suitable.
- Wall pieces should be fixed into studs wherever possible; use the supplied rated anchors elsewhere.
Weight capacity, honestly
- Every listed capacity is a tested figure for a correctly installed piece — not a target to aim at.
- Choose a piece rated comfortably above your cat's weight to allow for the force of landing.
- For multi-cat homes, assume two cats will share a platform at some point.
Ongoing checks
- Re-seat suction cups monthly and replace them every 12 months.
- Re-tighten wall hardware every six months.
- Stop using any piece that shifts, creaks or leaves a gap at the mounting surface, and contact us.
Questions about your specific window or wall? Email hello@pawsandpanes.example with a photo and measurements and we'll tell you honestly whether a piece is suitable.
